Both are credentials awarded by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) to professionals who specialize in performing ultrasound examinations. RDCS professionals focus on imaging the heart and assessing cardiac function, while RVTs specialize in evaluating blood flow and vascular structures throughout the body. These certifications demonstrate advanced knowledge and competency in their respective areas and are often required for employment in hospitals and clinics.

These competencies are vital for delivering precise, high-quality imaging that guides patient management and supports interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
