Job description

Overview:
We are a long-established dental practice under NEW ownership seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dental Assistant (DA) or Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our wonderful team in Oakland, NJ on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave. This position is expected to begin soon and run for several months. For the right candidate, there is strong potential for this role to transition to a full-time permanent opportunity. 
As a part of our team, you will help deliver high-quality care to our patients in a professional, welcoming environment.
Job Details:
*NEW Ownership*
The office is open 4 days a week: Monday through Thursday.
(Closed Friday, Saturday & Sunday!)
Schedule:
Mondays from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM
Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Wednesdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM
This position is for Temporary Maternity Leave Coverage beginning in July of 2026 with an opportunity for full time.
Competitive hourly rate based on experience - (If Entry Level, on-the-job training is available)
Friendly working environment under new ownership
Three day weekends

Responsibilities:
Preparation & sterilization of instruments and operatories 
Assisting the doctor (experience in four-handed dentistry is a plus)
Taking dental radiographs (if licensed) and assist with patient assessments
Reviewing medical histories and updating patient records 
Maintaining OSHA and infection control standards
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure proper sterilization techniques are followed
Work closely with the dentist to provide excellent patient care
Qualifications:
Valid X-Ray license & RDA certification is a plus
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Experience with dental software is a plus
Team player with a passion for patient care
