Job description

Part-Time Registered Dietitian (RD/RDN) – Older Adult Nutrition Services

RD Nutrition Consultants is seeking a qualified Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) to provide professional nutrition services in partnership with Ontario County, NY. This is a part-time position (16 hours per week) supporting the nutrition programs serving older adults through county-based services.

The ideal candidate is experienced in community or clinical nutrition, comfortable working with older adult populations, and knowledgeable in state and federal nutrition guidelines.


Position Overview
  • Schedule: Part-time, approximately 16 hours per week

  • Setting: Community-based / older adult services

  • Location: Ontario County, NY (local presence required)

  • Compensation: $31.00-$40.00/hour depending on experience


Key Responsibilities
  • Provide nutrition counseling and documentation for clients referred by the program team

  • Process new clients and complete all required onboarding paperwork

  • Enter all required activities and documentation into the Statewide Client Database

  • Create and oversee quarterly menus that meet nutritional guidelines for:

    • Home Delivered Meals (HDMs)

    • Community Dining Sites

  • Monitor community dining sites and complete quality inspections in collaboration with the Nutrition Coordinator

  • Prepare and coordinate quarterly volunteer education and training related to:

    • Community dining

    • Food safety

    • Nutrition-related topics

  • Collaborate with the team to administer and review satisfaction surveys

  • Adhere to all client policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements

  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Qualifications
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) with active registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR)

  • Current license to practice as a dietitian/nutritionist in New York State

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a clinical or community setting

    • Experience working with older adults strongly preferred

  • Strong knowledge of:

    • Nutrition needs of older adults

    • Therapeutic diets

    • Menu planning and food service operations

  • Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
