Job description

HWI has a fantastic opportunity to join our Production Team as a Facilities Buyer II.


Summary

The Facilities Buyer II plans, directs, and coordinates purchase of raw material stock to ensure timely production of product.  Monitors and controls raw stock inventory levels.  Ensures accuracy in ordering, inventorying, and using raw material stock.


Responsibilities

  • Places orders for raw materials as needed.
  • Reviews sales orders and assigns dates for raw material availability.
  • Confirms shipping dates and tracks incoming shipments.
  • Tracks usage and balances for all raw material.
  • Forecasts requirements for all raw material.
  • Conducts physical inventories as necessary.
  • Ensures plant compliance with ISO9002 standard via audits.
  • Performs special tasks as required.

Requirements:

  • Requires minimum an Associate degree (two-year degree) in business management with purchasing emphasis.
  • Requires two (2) years purchasing and inventory control experience in a manufacturing operation.
  • Requires knowledge of purchasing and inventory control principles, applicable OSHA standards, and ISO Standards.
  • Requires proficient computer skills (MS Excel, MS Word, and QAD accounting system or similar products).

Physical and Environmental Requirements:

  • Physical Activity:  Requires 1/3 to 2/3 of time sitting; and less than 1/3 of time standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching, climbing/balancing, stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling, and/or speaking/hearing.
  • Lifting:  Requires less than 1/3 of time lifting up to 100 pounds.
  • Vision:  Requires accurate close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
  • Environment:  Requires more than 2/3 of time in an office setting; and less than 1/3 of time exposed to wet/humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, outdoor weather, and working near moving mechanical parts.
  • Noise:  Requires exposure to moderate noise.
