Job description

Tubman is seeking a Full Time Youth and Family Worker- Rapid Re-Housing, to provide resources and connections to comprehensive services for clients in Safe Journeys program, housing, and community-based settings.


The shift is Tuesdays- Saturdays from 10 AM - 6:30 PM


Reports to:Youth Community Housing Manager


In this role you serve youth, adults and families by providing intensive case management through Rapid Rehousing support. As a direct services staff, you will provide mentorship and resources to help maximize potential by highlighting individual strengths. You will also serve as a systems change advocate to ensure relevant services for youth, adults and families who represent historically marginalized communities.   • Provide comprehensive support and mentorship to youth and adults and their families who have experienced various forms of violence and/or homelessness
  • Promote safety and healing of individuals and families through crisis management, early intervention, and prevention
  • Promote healing through creation of a positive environment and provision of comprehensive activities to support goals
  • Promote trusting relationships
  • Foster healthy relationships through coordinated service delivery methods and systems advocacy
  • Provide resources to foster meaningful client outcomes Uphold professional boundaries and client-centered approach
  • Manage effective and efficient data practices and communication
  • Engage in marketing to ensure awareness about comprehensive agency services, partnerships, and additional community resources
  • Access to reliable transportation, beyond Uber/Lyft and Metro Transit


Preferred Candidate

  • Undergraduate degree in related field or equivalent lived or field experience
  • Experience providing crisis response services and direct services advocacy in community settings
  • Familiar with tenant rights
  • Two years direct service experience related to relationship violence, including sexual assault and exploitation
  • Ability to engage diverse youth, parents, and families in activities that promote meaningful relationships and goal attainment
  • Ability to foster an inclusive and responsive environment
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary systems change initiatives addressing over representation of marginalized communities in prisons, shelter, and child welfare responses
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in upholding a youth development framework within the context of experiences related to historically-based trauma
  • Experience in implementing interventions to support complex trauma
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, extensive walking, standing, and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Pass DHS Fingerprint Criminal Background Study as required by program licensing.


Compensation & Benefits

The salary for the position is $23.50 per hour.
