Develop and grow the Inspection and Day Works Department in your local area by intentional focus on obtaining new customers while exceeding existing customers expectations on the service of their fire suppression system.
Responsible for setting sales goals while building successful alliances with End Users, Property Managers & Business Associations. This individual will develop customer relationships, providing and negotiating pricing for inspection/repair proposals by leading a team within the Service Department to ensure customer satisfaction and service/inspection growth.
Project manage all service/inspection jobs personally sold as well as a few tenant improvement projects sold by others. In the project management role, this position holds overall management responsibility for all aspects of fire protection service/inspection projects from conception through systems functioning as intended. This role will oversee/ conduct scheduling, planning, actual construction, inspection, quality control, and total delivery of the project according to established criteria. Responsible for tracking, forecasting, and communicating all costs, profits, and financial measures of the project. Through coordination with our field superintendent, this role will organize and manage all the elements involved in construction: design, field labor, temporary and permanent materials, equipment, supplies, utilities, and time.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible to set the goals with the Regional Manager at the beginning of the year.

  • Hire and retain qualified Inspectors and service technicians.

  • Responsible to coordinate and manage service and inspection work in Service Trade

  • Assist in training and develop all new hires that will be working on contracts and/or in service trade.

  • Assist with the promotion of the requirement of fire sprinkler, fire alarm, special hazards and fire extinguisher inspections.

  • Keep abreast of marketing opportunities through sales calls, networking, and other market related information.

  • Lead customer presentations, "lunch and learns" and other relationship building meetings.

  • Obtain new leads for new customers as well as provide quotations for inspections to new and existing customers.

  • Determine customer needs by conducting site surveys and communicate effectively to educate the customer about Rapid Fire's capabilities.

  • Develop and maintain an active proposal backlog to support an established sale plan.

  • Develop and maintain new and existing customer relationships to ensure Rapid Fire Protection meets or exceeds their expectations of a long-term partner.

  • Support other Rapid-Fire Teams in their initiatives as they relate to your territory such as owner training of new systems.

  • Coordinate and schedule the dispatch of technicians, equipment, or service vehicles to appropriate locations according to customer requests, specifications, or coordinate subcontractors to perform their portion of inspections when applicable.

  • Relay work orders, messages, and information to or from technicians, supervisors, and field inspectors.

  • Work with customers to set up inspection schedules for the upcoming year.

  • Confer with customers or supervising personnel in order to address questions, problems, and requests for service or equipment.

  • Prepares and maintains accurate records and logs of all telephone calls and other records, files and information systems.

  • Enter, update and retrieve information via multiple computer programs.

  • Send out inspection reports to Customers, AHJ's, National Accounts Managers or others as required.

  • Assist in billing inspection and Day Work jobs per office guidelines.

  • Responsible for meeting sales goals while building successful alliances with End Users, Property Managers & Business Associations.

  • Maintain a deep knowledge of the markets and industry of the region.

  • You should try to understand the construction environment in your region.

  • You should seek to find labor sources in your region.

  • Review financial and non-financial reports to devise solutions or improvements.

  • Develop strategies and plans ensuring their alignment with short-term and long-term objectives.

Education/Qualification:

  • Specific ITM Training or NICET Certifications

  • 5 years' minimum experience in inspecting Sprinkler, Alarm, Extinguisher, and Backflow

  • Maintain Local and State Licenses

  • Attend yearly continuing education classes and courses.

Other Duties:

  • Building a mentor type relationship with our inspectors by leading the Department

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of providing clear instructions.

  • Highly motivated, energetic team-oriented individual

  • Must be able to travel and have a flexible work schedule.

  • Certified to perform Sprinkler, Alarm, Backflow and Extinguisher inspections.

Physical Requirements:

  • While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands or arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.
