Job description

The Inventory Auditor is responsible for verifying the accuracy of inventory records and ensuring that warehouse inventory levels are properly maintained. This role involves conducting regular and random audits of inventory, investigating discrepancies, implementing corrective actions to prevent future errors, generating inventory reports, and updating an electronic inventory system. Warehouse Inventory Auditors typically operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts to unload or load materials and arrange items in the warehouse.
Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Warehouse Manager to maintain an accurate inventory system, including regular stock counts, reconciliations, and data entry.
  • Verifies clerical computations against physical count of stock and adjusts errors in computation or count or investigates and reports reasons for discrepancies.
  • Ensure the effective management and resolution of warehouse management system issues with the system technical support and/or the IT department to address any issue.
  • Perform random cycle counts and full inventory counts as required.
  • Assist with order tracking and resolving any order-related issues or discrepancies.
  • Recommend corrective actions to address inventory inaccuracies and inefficiencies.
  • Writes up inventory reports detailing any overstock or missing items.
  • Report to the warehouse manager on all activities/updates.

Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and inventory control.
  • Ability to reconcile stock counts to report data.
  • Database management skills.
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork.
  • Experience using a personal computer or portable device is required.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong ability to quickly grasp new technologies, applications and concepts.
  • Ability to work in an office/Warehouse.
  • Excellent verbal communication and writing skills.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Distribution Center experience 2+ years preferred.
  • Furniture and/or appliance exposure preferred.
  • Inventory experience 2+ years preferred.
  • Forklift experience 1+ year preferred.
