Pinion is looking for a Business Developer who thrives on creating opportunities, building trusted relationships, and helping ag businesses solve complex challenges. This is a true hunter role focused on generating new business, expanding market presence, and connecting clients with the accounting, tax, and advisory solutions they need to succeed. Travel, networking, and relationship-building are core to the role.

What You'll Be Doing

• Develop new business opportunities across Pinion's accounting and advisory service lines.
• Build relationships with producers, agribusiness leaders, and industry influencers.
• Attend trade shows, conferences, and networking events to expand Pinion's presence.
• Lead prospecting efforts through outreach, referrals, and relationship development.
• Facilitate introductions between prospects and Pinion's technical experts.
• Manage opportunities through the sales process, from first conversation to client onboarding.
• Collaborate with teams across the firm to create solutions that meet client needs.
• Maintain an active pipeline and accurate CRM documentation.
• Travel up to 40% throughout the year.

What You'll Need

• 1-3+ years of sales, business development, or client relationship experience.
• Proven ability to generate and develop new business opportunities.
• Strong communication, networking, and relationship-building skills.
• Personal and/or professional experience in agriculture, agribusiness, livestock, farming, or ranching.
• Comfort working independently while collaborating across a national organization.
• Digital fluency with CRM platforms, Microsoft 365, and virtual communication tools.
• Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to connect client challenges with business solutions.
• A proactive, competitive, and self-motivated approach to business development.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Familiarity with consultative or solution-based selling methodologies.
• Experience selling financial or professional services.

Compensation: In some states and municipalities, Pinion is required by law to include a reasonable estimate for range of compensation. When making compensation decisions, Pinion takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, skills, certifications/licenses, and geographic location. The wide range for this role reasonably accounts for these factors. Specific compensation decisions are made based on the facts and circumstances of each case. Compensation includes base + commission. A reasonable estimate of the base range is $70,000 to $90,000.
