The Housekeeping Supervisor supports the daily operations of Housekeeping, Custodial, and Laundry functions to ensure exceptional cleanliness standards across guest rooms and public spaces. This role partners closely with department leadership to uphold service excellence, ensure policy compliance, and maintain operational efficiency within budget guidelines. This position requires a hands-on leader who balances quality standards, team development, and financial responsibility while maintaining a strong guest-first mindset.


Responsibilities

WHAT YOU'LL DO AS A CANYON RANCH COLLEAGUE:

Operational Excellence & Quality Assurance
  • Ensure guest rooms, public areas, and laundry operations consistently meet established cleanliness and presentation standards.
  • Conduct routine inspections and provide real-time coaching to maintain quality and service expectations.
  • Track and follow through on guest requests and service needs.
  • Report and coordinate resolution of maintenance concerns in a timely manner.
  • Support daily housekeeping operations, including cleaning rooms when needed and performing opening and closing duties.
  • Assist with public area cleanliness, event setup needs, and overall property presentation.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise Housekeeping, Custodial, and Laundry colleagues during assigned shifts.
  • Assign daily work schedules and room assignments to team members.
  • Train, coach, and mentor colleagues on cleaning procedures, safety standards, and service expectations.
  • Support onboarding and ongoing development of team members.
  • Address performance concerns professionally while fostering a collaborative and respectful work environment.
  • Maintain effective communication with Front Office, Engineering, and other operational departments.
Inventory & Financial Management
  • Monitor inventory levels of linens, guest supplies, and cleaning products.
  • Assist with ordering and maintaining appropriate inventory levels based on business demands.
  • Support cost-control initiatives while maintaining service and quality standards.
  • Review and verify employee time records and assist with payroll-related processes.
  • Support departmental financial reporting and expense management activities.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

Required
  • Flexibility to work mornings/afternoons, weekends, and holidays.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of housekeeping, custodial, laundry, or related hospitality experience.
  • Knowledge of housekeeping operations, cleaning procedures, laundry processes, and chemical handling.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and workplace safety practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform the physical requirements of the position, including standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the workday.
Preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience in housekeeping or hotel operations.
  • Experience in a full-service resort, luxury hospitality environment, or 100+ room hotel.
  • Bilingual language skills.
  • Experience with inventory management, payroll review, and departmental budgeting.
  • Demonstrated success leading teams focused on guest service excellence.

The pay rate for this position starts at $27/hour.
