What are some common challenges faced by Ran Support Engineers when troubleshooting network issues?

Ran Support Engineers often encounter challenges such as pinpointing the root cause of network outages, managing multiple vendor equipment, and addressing performance degradation in real-time. Troubleshooting frequently involves analyzing large volumes of log data, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and quickly implementing solutions to minimize service disruption. Staying updated with evolving wireless technologies and maintaining clear communication with both internal teams and external clients are also essential for effective problem resolution.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a RAN Support Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a RAN Support Engineer, you need a solid background in telecommunications, radio frequency (RF) engineering, and a relevant degree such as electrical or telecommunications engineering. Familiarity with network management systems, troubleshooting tools, and certifications like CCNA or vendor-specific credentials (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson) are often required. Strong problem-solving abilities, effective communication, and teamwork skills help you diagnose issues and collaborate with cross-functional teams. These competencies are essential for ensuring reliable mobile network performance and quick resolution of technical issues.

What is the difference between Ran Support Engineer vs Radio Network Support Engineer?

AspectRan Support EngineerRadio Network Support Engineer
CertificationsCarrier-specific, LTE/5G certificationsRF, LTE, 5G certifications
Work EnvironmentCell sites, network operation centersCell sites, field environments
Industry UsageTelecom providers, network vendorsTelecom providers, network vendors

Both roles involve supporting radio access networks, but Ran Support Engineers focus more on the overall RAN infrastructure, while Radio Network Support Engineers specialize in RF and radio-specific issues. The choice depends on whether the role emphasizes network infrastructure or radio frequency troubleshooting.

What are RAN Support Engineers?

RAN Support Engineers are professionals who specialize in supporting and maintaining Radio Access Networks (RAN) used in mobile telecommunications. They troubleshoot network issues, optimize system performance, and ensure reliable connectivity between mobile devices and the core network. Their work is essential for ensuring that cellular networks operate efficiently and deliver high-quality service to users. RAN Support Engineers often collaborate with other engineers and field technicians to resolve complex technical problems.

Job description

Overview

TeleWorld Solutions is seeking a RAN Wireless SME to lead technical solutioning, product requirements, and performance analysis across next-generation 4G/5G wireless networks. This role serves as a critical bridge between engineering, product, and customer team-driving innovation, resolving complex technical challenges, and enabling successful deployment of advanced RAN technologies including virtualized and cloud-native networks.

Who We Are: The Architects of What Connects Us

You find the signal in the noise of data.ย We build the signal itself.

We are TeleWorld Solutions, and we are the strategic backbone for the world's most ambitious wireless networks. We're not just consultants; we're the engineers, designers, and problem-solvers that operators, OEMs, and tower giants trust to bring their boldest visions to life.

Our playground is the invisible architecture of connection-from vast macro networks to the hyper-precise world of DAS, Small Cells, and Wi-Fi. With a legacy ofย hundreds of thousands of successful implementations, we help our clients navigate the entire lifecycle of their network: from the first line of a design to the final optimization, and every critical decision about performance and value in between.

Why does this matter to you?

The complex data you will master-the CDRs, network KPIs, and customer signals-flows from the very infrastructure we design and optimize. You won't just be analyzing abstract numbers; you'll be interpreting the digital heartbeat of networks that we helped bring to life. Your insights will directly influence the next generation of those networks.

Here, your work as a data storyteller is powered by deep, tangible engineering excellence. You provide the "what" and "why." We provide the "how" on a global scale.

Welcome to the engine room of connection. Let's build what's next
