HIRING: Chief Engineer
Ramada Costa Mesa / Newport Beach
Excel Hotel Group | Full-Time | $29$32/hr
We're looking for a Chief Engineer to take full ownership of maintenance operations at our Ramada Costa Mesa / Newport Beach property. This is a hands-on leadership role you'll run the preventative maintenance program, manage the maintenance team, lead the safety committee, and keep the building in top condition.
What You'll Do:
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and building systems regularly to catch and fix issues before they become problems
- Manage all building systems: HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool/spa, fire/life safety
- Build and run the preventative maintenance program
- Hire, train, schedule, and supervise maintenance techs
- Manage outside contractors for specialized work
- Serve as Safety Committee Leader run safety trainings, maintain PPE, ensure OSHA compliance
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget
- Track parts/supplies inventory and handle procurement
What We're Looking For:
- 35 years hotel or commercial building maintenance experience, at least 1 year in a lead/supervisor role
- Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and pool maintenance
- Strong communication skills can direct a team, coordinate vendors, and report to management clearly
- Physically able to stand/walk 8+ hours and lift up to 50 lbs
- Reliable and self-directed
Nice to Have:
- EPA 608 or HVAC credentials
- CPO certification
- Bilingual English/Spanish
