Spectrum Healthcare Resources has an exciting opportunity for a civilian Dental Assistant at Naval Station Great Lakes in Waukegan, IL, where everyday presents new challenges and opportunities for growth. Naval Station Great Lakes offers excellent accessibility for candidates throughout the Chicagoland and southeastern Wisconsin regions.

  • Located near the Great Lakes Metra Station on the Union Pacific North (UP-N) Line
  • Direct rail service from Chicago, Evanston, Wilmette, Winnetka, Highland Park, Lake Forest, Waukegan, and Kenosha
  • Approximately a 10-minute drive from Interstate 94, providing easy access from both Illinois and Wisconsin

This contract position offers:

  • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm 
  • Competitive pay |$27.96/hr

Position Requirements:

  • Education: Hold a Certificate or Associate Degree in dental assisting, obtained from a program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) of the American Dental Association (ADA), with at least 12 months of experience within the last 36 months.
  • Military expertise: Or Possess certification from a military dental technician or dental assistant school, coupled with 12 months of experience within the preceding 36 months, showcasing your specialized skills in a military setting.
  • Dental Office Training: Must have 3 years experience and provide Letter from Current Employer's HR with list of job duties to include Dental Radiography.
  • Radiographic proficiency: Be certified in radiography, with comprehensive training covering radiation physics, biology, health, safety, and protection, as well as digital radiographic processing techniques.
  • Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of Dental Assistant experience following graduation
  • Certification: Maintain Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification AND Dental Radiography certification
