In the role of Area Airfield Design Business Class Leader, we'll count on you to:
  • Take responsibility for area-wide development, coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of airfield business class staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers
  • Collaborate on business class efforts with area and company operations, marketing and management
  • Develop and lead business class practice and professional discipline groups, and project teams
  • Participate in and contribute to annual business plan development. Partner with market Sector and Business Group leadership in managing business plan goals throughout the year
  • Internally and externally recruit, develop and retain aviation staff in accordance with Market Sector needs and strategy
  • Take responsibility for area-wide development, coordination, monitoring and improvement of technical competencies of Aviation business class staff and products to meet client needs and market drivers
  • Oversee delivery of project services and deliverables to meet client expectations, workload leveling needs and best-practice application
  • Responsible for overseeing design deliverables with technical accuracy and quality control
  • Serve as an ambassador for our internal quality program for airfield design business class services, and oversee QA/QC procedures
  • Oversee project teams to successfully deliver on a variety of projects
  • Oversee the writing of technical reports, presentations, and other materials

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficient in aviation planning and design principles
  • Demonstrated history in successfully leading teams on complex airport / airfield projects
  • Experience with FAA and US DoD Aviation design criteria
  • Experience with large, multi-disciplined programs at hub airports
  • Geographic diversity of experience throughout the US
  • Knowledge of aviation market in Florida including client relationships and past project experience
  • Possesses excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as leadership, planning and mentoring skills
  • Master's degree
  • PMP certification
  • Preference given to local candidates

  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering or closely related field
  • 10 years of experience
  • Committed to quality, improvement and HDR values
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors and marketing managers on business class efforts
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
