Job description

RSI Logistics, recently acquired by Trinity Industries is hiring a Railcar Maintenance Coordinator in our Woodlands, TX office. The Maintenance Coordinator's primary objective is to enable timely documentation of qualifications, maintenance, repairs, and cleaning of railcars to enhance railcar performance and utilization.
This role is also responsible for ensuring compliance with all AAR/DOT/FRA and other applicable environmental, Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations.
The Maintenance Coordinator will interact directly with the client, railroads, railcar shops, railcar owners, and other RSI personnel. The role operates in a professional office environment and requires mechanical aptitude and decision-making skills.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Works in partnership with client(s) to establish annual maintenance requirements (programs).
  • Organize, update and maintain shop status reports, operational records, and logs of activities and distribute as requested upon completion.
  • Verify customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, editing, recovering or re-entry of data in order to collect all required shopping documents related to mechanical and regulatory changes.
  • Expedite the established annual maintenance requirements (programs) based on client requirements to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Participate in client-required meetings on this topic as needed.
  • Ability to read, understand, evaluate and verify a wide range of railcar maintenance materials and information to recognize and correct discrepancies and or areas of improvement as necessary.
  • Follow and maintain SOPs/KPI's as necessary.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics supply chain management preferred, and or in a related field equivalent to logistics or business.
  • Minimum of 2 plus years of experience in shop and maintenance of rail operations or rail logistics coordination.
  • OTMA/Hazmat certification preferred
  • System savvy (prior ERP experience or Rail TMS/SAP software experience highly preferred Knowledge of safety regulations from AAR, OSHA, DOT, and FRA
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail ensure timely completion.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and work independently and collaboratively with a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (strong excel knowledge is required), Microsoft Teams, Zoom.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
    Vendor/Client relationship management preferred.
    Knowledge of safety regulations from AAR, OSHA, and DOT
