Description:
Commercial Logistics BI Analyst III

The Commercial Logistics Business Improvement team supports the Commercial organization through system integrations, data integrity, analytics, and modeling.
The Commercial Logistics BI Analyst III contractor will serve in a more advanced individual contributor capacity, helping drive continuous improvement for rail transportation management systems, SAP/ERP capabilities, process optimization, analytics, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is expected to operate with greater independence, handle more complex assignments, and provide experienced support for scalable and sustainable business solutions based on operational and system needs.
This position requires strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, technical aptitude, and the ability to convert complex data and business processes into actionable recommendations and measurable improvements. Success in this role depends on collaboration, initiative, execution, and the ability to assess current-state processes and identify opportunities to improve logistics performance and system effectiveness.
Responsibilities
  • Monitor and support SAP integrations with TMS applications, proactively troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and help drive timely resolution of complex system or process issues.
  • Serve as an experienced subject matter resource for TMS platforms, providing guidance, knowledge sharing, and user support across the organization.
  • Use analytics tools, reporting, and operational data to improve visibility, identify trends, and enable data-driven decision-making.
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to support system upgrades, data integrations, and process optimization initiatives across logistics workflows.
  • Document process changes, system updates, and improvement initiatives, and prepare reports or presentations on progress, outcomes, and business impact.
  • Support strategic business improvement efforts, including freight management system enhancements and initiatives to improve logistics transparency.
  • Maintain high levels of data integrity by monitoring key system data and supporting critical transactions within TMS platforms.
  • Analyze end-to-end process and data flow issues and recommend solutions that improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting consistency across teams.
  • Work independently on moderately complex assignments, escalating risks appropriately, and helping coordinate solutions with business and technical stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 4+ years of experience working with transportation management systems, SAP, ERP platforms, and process improvement practices, with demonstrated progression in responsibility.
  • Working knowledge of rail and truck logistics operations, including carrier management, shipment tracking, and freight optimization.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilities, with the ability to challenge the status quo and drive practical improvements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and present insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Experience documenting business requirements, process flows, and system interactions to support operational and technical improvements.
  • Ability to work effectively in a contractor role, quickly build relationships, and deliver results in a dynamic business environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA and SAP R/3, including vendor billing documents, nominations, shipment cost documents, and ticket actualization.
  • Experience in integrating TMS data into ERP systems and other enterprise platforms.
  • Ability to map business processes and demonstrate end-to-end data flow to improve data accuracy and streamline reporting across departments.
  • Experience supporting logistics improvement initiatives across truck and rail operations.
