Job description

Job Summary (Radiation Therapy Technologist Contract Position)
- Contract Details:
- Start Date: 5/10/2025
- Duration: 2 months
- Schedule: 5x8-hour days per week
- Compensation: $2,721 per week
- Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver radiation therapy treatments according to physician prescriptions
- Explain procedures to patients and provide comfort during treatments
- Assist radiation oncologists/physicians with treatment planning sessions
- Record all treatment information in patient charts
- Report equipment issues to supervisor or physicist
- Assist with machine warm-up and calibration checks
- Schedule patients using computerized system
- Maintain contact with patients, nurses, and physicians
- Calculate treatment doses as needed
- Monitor patients for reactions and report to physicians
- Reinforce physician advice regarding treatment reactions and care
- Observe and enforce radiation safety measures for patients and staff
- Mentor and advise radiation therapy students
- Maintain daily billing and organize treatment records
- Perform quality assurance procedures
- Prepare and assist with radium implants, maintain radium records and safety
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Maintain continuing education credits
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Qualifications:
- Graduate of an approved school of radiation therapy
- Licensed as a radiation therapy technologist in Massachusetts
- Registered by ARRT within one year of graduation
- CPR certified within 3 months of start date
