Job Description
We are seeking a Network Test & Certification Engineer with deep expertise in various network platforms and systems. This position will work in a Network Lab managing different equipment deployed in the Visa Network environment. The candidate will perform various functions to install new devices, build network topologies, install cables, configure network devices, troubleshoot connectivity, build systems and applications to manage the end-to-end network in the network lab.
Some travel (up to 10%) may be required for training, project-related activities, and vendor engagements.
Responsibilities:
  • Promote a culture prioritizing safety, security, and compliance across all datacenter operations.
  • Configure and validate console and Ethernet management connectivity for new equipment.
  • Set up routers, switches, firewalls, VMware, HyperV, and OSV to establish comprehensive test environments.
  • Create virtual machines, install applications, and manage lab user accounts.
  • Administer Windows servers and apply patches to address vulnerabilities.
  • Automate repeatable tasks to manage the lab
  • Rack, stack, and supply power to servers, switches, and routers within telecommunications racks and cabinets.
  • Complete cabling assignments according to diagrams provided by senior engineers.
  • Update inventory systems as necessary.
  • Install application software on both Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Provide remote support to other team members as needed.
  • Comprehend and follow the ticket management process, maintaining documentation and records in the ticketing system.
  • Perform system administration duties including software installation and updates, security patching, and hardware maintenance.
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with internal teams and external suppliers.

Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
• 2+ years of relevant work experience and a Bachelors degree, OR 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Qualifications
• 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD)
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, or more than 2 years with an advanced degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD).
• Demonstrated expertise in network engineering, including the design, configuration, and troubleshooting of network infrastructures.
• Comprehensive understanding of TCP/IP and routing protocols such as MPLS, BGP, OSPF, RIP, and EIGRP.
• Proficient in advanced networking technologies, including IPSec, SSL, HSRP, VRRP, VXLAN, MLAG, NAT, MPLS, VPN, EVPN, SDN, and Load Balancing.
• Extensive hands-on experience with Arista, Juniper, and Cisco platforms, as well as F5 Big-IP load balancers.
• Proficient in automation and scripting using Python
• Capable of installing new equipment, running cables/fibers, and powering up equipment.
• Experienced in terminating and testing CAT 5/6 and fiber optic cables.
• Practical experience with Windows and Linux operating systems for application installation and vulnerability resolution through patching.
• Knowledgeable about telecommunications technologies, systems, and circuits (e.g., Ethernet, SONET, TDM circuits).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple projects and priorities efficiently.
• Experience operating heavy-load movement equipment such as pallet jacks and chassis lifts.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Strong motivation and capacity to learn, develop, and acquire new skills.

The estimated salary range for this position is $131,600.00 to $ 210,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
