Responsibilities

The Jackson R. Lehman Family YMCA is seeking an enthusiastic and attentive part-time Aqua Aerobics Instructor to join our team by connecting participants to one another and their wellness goals and fostering an atmosphere of small communities with fellow members by which the YMCA's mission can be fulfilled in a fun and healthy way.

  • Connect: Build effective, authentic relationships with members and help to connect them with each other.
  • Serve: Adhere to appropriate and safe class structure, including all health and fitness components, and recognize when participants need assistance, acting promptly to help them.
  • Inspire: Lead energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes as well as answer questions from participants to support them in their goals.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age, with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must have at least one year of teaching experience and be certified by an approved organization in both land and water fitness instruction.
  • Ability to demonstrate efficiency in group exercise instruction.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part-time $12.44-$14.50 hourly

Hours Available: Tuesdays & Thursdays 11:00am-12:00pm
