What is a QVC model?

A QVC model is a professional who showcases clothing, accessories, beauty products, or other merchandise on QVC, a televised shopping network. Their role is to display products in a way that highlights fit, function, and appeal while interacting with presenters and cameras. Models must follow direction, maintain a polished appearance, and sometimes demonstrate product usability. This job often requires availability for live broadcasts and the ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment.

What does a typical workday look like for a QVC model, and how do they interact with hosts and production teams?

A typical workday for a QVC Model involves arriving at the studio for hair, makeup, and wardrobe, followed by rehearsals and live or recorded product presentations. Models collaborate closely with hosts, adjusting their demonstrations to highlight product features while responding to the host's cues and questions. They also work with directors, producers, and stylists to ensure each segment runs smoothly and products are presented in the best possible light. Flexibility is key, as the live nature of QVC programming can mean last-minute changes or back-to-back shows. This collaborative, dynamic environment is ideal for individuals who enjoy fast-paced teamwork and varied daily tasks.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the QVC models position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a QVC Model, you must possess strong on-camera presence, product presentation skills, and the ability to follow direction from producers, usually supported by prior modeling or live broadcast experience. Familiarity with live television production and the ability to use teleprompters or earpieces is often required. Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and adaptability make a model stand out especially during live, unscripted segments. These abilities are crucial because QVC Models must effectively showcase products, engage viewers, and respond quickly to real-time feedback to help drive sales on a live shopping channel.

How do I become a QVC model?

To become a QVC model, individuals typically need to submit an application through QVC's casting or talent recruitment process, which may include providing photos, videos, and relevant experience. Successful candidates often have strong communication skills, a personable appearance, and may be required to audition or participate in casting calls. Building a portfolio and gaining experience in modeling or live presenting can improve chances of being selected.

What is it like to be a QVC model?

A QVC model presents products on live television, demonstrating their features and benefits to viewers. The role requires good communication skills, comfort on camera, and the ability to engage an audience. Models often follow specific scripts and may need to adapt quickly during live broadcasts.

This isn't a role where you'll spend your days working a req list. You'll own the talent acquisition strategy for your area, from sourcing channel mix and pipeline development to employer brand activation and the operating model that ties it all together, and you'll build the systems and team capability that make great recruiting repeatable at scale.
You'll report to the Senior Director, US Talent Acquisition, and you'll operate as a true business partner to functional leaders and HR leadership, advising on talent strategy, market dynamics, and hiring decisions at a level that shapes how the organization designs itself. You'll also drive our shift toward proactive talent acquisition, embedding a talent advisor mindset across your team so that recruiters show up as labor market analysts, career coaches, hiring strategists, and process change agents.
If you're energized by building teams, frameworks, and capability rather than simply filling roles, and you want to help transform how a Fortune 500 company finds and hires talent, keep reading.
Where You'll Work
This role is hybrid and will require you to be onsite at our West Chester, PA headquarters (Studio Park) several days per month (onsite days are predetermined and standard across the company). What You'll Do
  • Lead and develop a team of TA professionals, setting the standards, coaching performance, and building the bench of future recruiting leaders.
  • Own the proactive talent acquisition strategy for your area, including sourcing channels, pipeline development, talent community building, and employer brand activation.
  • Advise senior business and HR leaders on talent strategy, labor market dynamics, and hiring decisions, earning a seat at the table on workforce planning and organizational design.
  • Lead TA business planning for your area, including headcount demand forecasting, recruiter capacity modeling, and alignment to workforce plans.
  • Build the KPI frameworks, capability programs, and accountability structures that make consultative, data-driven recruiting the norm across your team.
  • Identify systemic gaps in how the function operates, design solutions, and drive implementation through your leadership team.
  • Develop team capability in advanced sourcing, business partnering, data literacy, inclusive hiring practices, and candidate experience design.
  • Partner with Total Rewards on compensation strategy and offer competitiveness, bringing forward hiring market patterns that should inform comp decisions.
  • Set standards for full utilization of TA technology and data-driven recruiting practices, and hold leaders accountable for translating tools into measurable outcomes.
  • Establish vendor governance for your area, holding search firms and platform vendors accountable to defined performance standards and ROI.
  • Lead or co-lead cross-functional projects spanning process re-engineering, technology implementation, and organizational capability.
  • Represent QVC Group externally in industry forums, employer brand events, and senior recruiting networks, strengthening our market presence and talent pipelines.
  • Step into a small number of high-priority or sensitive searches when your direct involvement adds real value.

What You'll Bring
  • 10+ years of recruiting experience, including at least 5 years in progressively senior TA management roles.
  • Experience managing managers and leading recruiting teams through other leaders, including coaching, performance management, and succession planning.
  • A track record of driving TA transformation, whether shifting a team toward proactive sourcing, redesigning operating models, or building new capability at scale.
  • Strong business partnering skills, with demonstrated credibility advising HR and senior business leaders on talent strategy.
  • Fluency with recruiting data and analytics, and comfort using both to coach performance and influence decisions.
  • Experience with TA technology, workforce planning, and organizational change.
