CDL Class A Local Delivery Driver

CDL Class A Local Delivery Driver | Avg $85k+| Home Daily | Touch Freight | Full-Time

Quirch Foods is hiring experienced CDL Class A Delivery Drivers / CDL-A Drivers / Commercial Truck Drivers / Route Delivery Drivers to join our transportation team in our Hammond, LA location.

As a CDL Class A Local Delivery Driver, you'll safely deliver food products to customer locations while operating in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company transportation safety standards.

Position Snapshot

  • Schedule: Full-Time

  • Weekend / Holiday Availability: Required as needed

Essential Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a Class A commercial tractor-trailer / commercial motor vehicle (CMV) to complete scheduled customer deliveries
  • Perform local and multi-stop route deliveries in varying locations and traffic/weather conditions
  • Load, unload, and deliver product using safe handling procedures and approved delivery equipment
  • Perform required pre-trip inspections, post-trip inspections, DVIR completion, and vehicle safety checks
  • Verify delivery accuracy, invoices, product counts, and customer paperwork
  • Collect payments or required documentation when applicable
  • Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, FMCSA requirements, Hours of Service rules, CDL qualifications, and company safety policies
  • Operate pallet jacks, hand trucks, and delivery equipment safely
  • Deliver professional customer service at delivery locations
  • Maintain strong attendance, punctuality, and route dependability

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding touch freight delivery role.

Drivers must be able to:

  • Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull product
  • Regularly handle product averaging 40–60 lbs.
  • Repeatedly lift product and cases up to 100 lbs.
  • Enter and exit truck cab frequently
  • Work in fast-paced delivery environments

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A)
  • Current DOT Medical Card / Medical Certification
  • Acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR)
  • Ability to meet all DOT / FMCSA driver qualification requirements
  • Strong commitment to transportation safety and compliance
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
