What does a quilter do?

A quilter is a craftsperson who creates quilts by sewing together layers of fabric, typically consisting of a top fabric, a layer of batting for insulation, and a backing fabric. Quilters use various techniques such as piecing, appliqué, and hand or machine quilting to design and assemble their projects. Quilting can be done as a hobby, for artistic expression, or professionally to make custom quilts for clients.
