Job description

Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Social Media Specialist to join our Motorsports team in Marietta, GA. In this role you are responsible for developing and executing Yamaha Motorsports social media strategy in alignment with Yamaha's overall marketing and business objectives. This role leads social campaign planning and execution, manages engagement with consumers, partners, and influencers, and oversees content calendars and messaging across all social platforms. You will also monitor performance metrics, ensure brand consistency, and foster an active, engaged online community while supporting Yamaha's broader paid, owned, and earned media initiatives.
What you'll be doing:
  • Assist in the execution of Yamaha Motorsports comprehensive digital marketing strategy, creating and implementing social media marketing techniques to increase genuine and authentic visibility and traffic across all Yamaha Motorsports brands and products. Offer insights to appropriate marketing and sales teams, contributing to the overall strategy development and action plan.
  • Source and update social media content, including but not limited to user-generated, corporate, partner, and racing assets. Work with various departments and stakeholders to ensure a proper, coordinated marketing calendar with traditional marketing efforts, both on and offline.
  • Oversee continued growth of social/digital community to support Yamaha Motorsports brand/product direction; be the collective "voice" of Yamaha, engaging and cultivating the existing Yamaha/ Motorsports industry's communities on the company's behalf using Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms. Conduct brand audits and identify/research brand influencers, evangelists & advocates that align with the Yamaha brand and objectives.
  • Monitor Yamaha Motorsports' social media landscape for brand sentiment, relevance, and influence, utilizing traditional native monitoring along with any supplementary "listening tools". Communicate to respective stakeholders applicable marketing analytics and results, current and future trends, best practices, potential social influencers and partners, customer relations issues - questions, and more.
  • Travel to select Yamaha Motorsports events (weekends included) required, with ongoing daily social posts on site across all applicable social media outlets remaining.
  • Research, understand, and leverage target markets based upon the Motorsports product group's direction, additionally gaining competitive insights.
  • Prepare weekly reports and updates to internal staff, field staff, and supporting agencies as needed.

What you need to be successful:
  • BA / BS Degree in Marketing, Business Administration or related field.
  • 5 years of Marketing experience with the proven ability to "think socially".
  • Understanding of, and experience with, social media including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok and YouTube.
  • Social media listening / publishing / engagement experience a plus. (Native social media platform listening: Later, RivalIQ/Quid, etc.)
  • An effective communicator with appreciation for motorsports product / lifestyle to utilize across social platforms, vendors, and technologies.
  • Excellent writer with strong grammatical, spelling, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated, analytical, quick learner, organized, detail-oriented, multi-tasker.
