Job Summary:

We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented HR & Accounting Specialist to support both human resources operations and day-to-day accounting functions.

This role requires someone who can work independently, manage sensitive information, and ensure accuracy across HR and financial processes.

Key Responsibilities: Human Resources:
  • Manage employee onboarding, new hire documentation (I-9, W-4), and offboarding
  • Maintain employee records in compliance with federal and Texas labor laws
  • Administer benefits (enrollment, changes, employee communication)
  • Support payroll processing (collecting inputs, validating data, coordinating with payroll provider)
  • Track attendance, PTO, and employee requests
  • Assist with recruitment (job postings, screening, interview coordination)
  • Ensure HR compliance and confidentiality of employee data
Accounting:
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Prepare invoices, track payments, and follow up on outstanding balances
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Assist with payroll entries and coordination with external CPA/accountants
  • Support month-end close and audit preparation
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in HR and/or accounting roles
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel)
  • Working knowledge of payroll processes and basic accounting principles
  • Familiarity with U.S. employment laws and HR compliance basics
  • Strong follow-up, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with HRIS/payroll systems (ADP, Paychex, Gusto, etc.)
  • Experience with accounting software (QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)
  • Knowledge of Texas-specific employment practices
