Engineering Specialist

On-Site in Commerce, GA

Position Summary
The Engineering Specialist plays a key role in supporting our estimating department through data entry, vendor communications, document management, and cost tracking. The ideal candidate has experience working with CAD Inventor, understands basic mechanical components, and is comfortable working with vendors to gather quotes and pricing for construction-related materials and services.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist estimators in compiling and organizing project estimates using Quotebooks.

  • Input and manage cost data in QuickBooks and ensure accuracy of pricing.

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to request quotes, pricing, and availability of materials.

  • Maintain vendor databases and quote logs for easy access and future reference.

  • Support the preparation of bid packages and cost proposals.

  • Read and interpret basic construction and mechanical component drawings.

  • Help track and manage pricing trends and cost history for common materials and equipment.

  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure all estimating documentation is current and complete.

  • Perform general administrative support tasks related to the estimating department.


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in an estimating support, procurement, or administrative role (construction or manufacturing industry preferred).

  • Proficient in Quotebooks and QuickBooks (or similar estimating/accounting software).
