Tax – Indirect – Unclaimed Property and Escheat Services – Manager The opportunity

Join our globally integrated team of dedicated indirect tax professionals and you'll have the opportunity to combine your technical knowledge and industry understanding to identify, secure and recover unclaimed property for our clients. You'll combine analytical skills, client service and industry knowledge to uncover recovery opportunities, manage complex claims and deliver measurable financial value to clients. You'll likely spend much of your time engaging in the execution and delivery of unclaimed property asset recovery engagements, developing recovery strategies and overseeing complex claim portfolios to maximize asset recoveries and improve recovery outcomes. We'll look to you to develop strong relationships with our clients and government contacts, and team effectively with internal resources while developing and coaching junior members of the team. To make that happen, we'll look to you to leverage your expertise in unclaimed property recovery processes, claim administration and ownership research. You can expect to be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role.

Your key responsibilities

Lead asset recovery engagements, workstream delivery, track statuses and deliverables, and participate in client working sessions. Identify opportunities for additional services, contribute to RFPs, manage engagement economics, and implement resource plans and budgets. Guide teams, drive process improvements, and develop practical solutions to validate ownership, documentation, and recovery challenges.

  • Assist in and help oversee researching, preparing, filing and monitoring claims with agencies and jurisdictions
  • Communicate directly with sources to resolve claim issues, obtain supporting documentation, and facilitate claim processing.
  • Review complex ownership structures, mergers, acquisitions and successor relationships to support recovery claims
  • Contributing to client satisfaction by providing timely and responsive services and work products
  • Staying informed of current technical developments and effectively apply knowledge to client situations
  • Thoroughly and accurately analyze information; prepare quality, practical approaches to the client's unclaimed property situation and arrive at appropriate conclusions
  • Demonstrate an understanding of increasingly complex unclaimed property concepts.
  • Participate in and contribute to achieving team goals

  • CPA certification, Member of the US Bar or professional designation from the IOFM
  • Technical expertise and experience related to unclaimed property asset recovery is preferred
  • Excellent managerial, organizational, analytical and verbal/written communication skills

  • We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,100 to $192,600. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $126,100 to $218,900. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. In addition, our Total Rewards package includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.
  • Join us in our team-led and leader-enabled hybrid model. Our expectation is for most people in external, client serving roles to work together in person 60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
