Technicians can overcome these challenges by maintaining strong organizational skills, following structured troubleshooting protocols, and continuously updating their technical knowledge. Collaborating with team members and leveraging available resources also helps ensure high-quality, quick turnarounds.

Job description

Maintenance Technician – RISE Vols - Starting at $22/hour
A resident submits a service request before heading to class.
They’re expecting it to be handled — quickly, but more importantly, correctly.
In student housing, things move fast. Work orders stack up. Priorities shift.
But the standard can’t.
We’re hiring a Maintenance Technician at RISE Vols — someone who knows how to keep pace without cutting corners.
What This Role Really Is
This isn’t just a work order position.
This role is about consistency, problem-solving, and follow-through in a high-energy student housing environment.
It sits at the intersection of:
  • Service
  • Maintenance operations
  • Preventative care
  • Resident experience
You’re not just fixing issues — you’re keeping the community running the way it should.
What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Completing service requests in a timely and quality-focused manner
  • Diagnosing maintenance issues and resolving them effectively
  • Supporting preventative maintenance across the community
  • Assisting with unit turns and move-in readiness
  • Maintaining the overall condition and appearance of the property
  • Communicating clearly with residents and team members
  • Following safety standards and company procedures
What We’re Looking For
The right person for this role:
  • Takes pride in doing the job right — not just finishing it
  • Is dependable, consistent, and ready to work
  • Can handle a fast-paced, high-demand environment
  • Communicates professionally with residents and coworkers
  • Pays attention to detail and catches issues early
  • Works well independently and as part of a team
What This Role Is NOT
  • Not a “quick fix and move on” position
  • Not a slow-paced or low-expectation environment
  • Not a role where details don’t matter
Anyone can close out a work order.
We’re looking for someone who takes ownership of the result — and understands how their work impacts residents every day.
Why RISE Vols
This role directly impacts:
  • Resident satisfaction and day-to-day living experience
  • The condition and performance of the community
  • How smoothly operations run during peak times
Student housing moves fast — and this is an opportunity to be part of a team that keeps everything on track.
Interested?
If you take pride in your work…
If you like solving problems and staying busy…
If you want to be part of a team that values consistency and quality…
We’d like to connect.
