Job description

Spee Dee Delivery is a family owned and operated company that was started in 1978 by Donald and Sylvia Weeres. Our core business is in standard, next-day, ground delivery. The corporate headquarters and main sort facility is located in St. Cloud, MN. We currently employ over 1,800 employees company wide and over the years we have expanded throughout the Midwest. Job SummaryThe Part-Time Package Handler will load, unload, and sort freight accurately and in a timely manner to ensure quick delivery. Hours and WagesMonday-Friday, 4:00PM Start $18.00-20.00 per hour, based on experience Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnload packages by hand from fleet vehiclesScan package barcode labels while unloading for tracking purposesSort each package by zip code, city, or stateStack freight into trailers and routes in a manner to prevent damage and utilize space efficiently Wash fleet vehicles to maintain company image, as neededPerform light custodial duties to maintain a clean and safe warehouse environmentPerform other duties as assignedSkills and AbilitiesExcellent verbal communication skillsEfficient time management skillsExcellent organization skills and attention to detailAbility to read labels at a fast pace and work independentlyEducation and ExperienceAt least 16 years of ageHigh school diploma or equivalent preferredPhysical RequirementsAbility to bend, lift, twist, carry, and slide freightAbility to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively and up to 100 pounds occasionallyAbility to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animalsBenefits401(k) PlanEEO and Affirmative Action StatementSpee Dee Delivery Service, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
