Job description


The Business Development Representative (BDR) for Quest Diagnostics Workforce Health Solutions (WHS) serves as the tip of the spear for our commercial organization. Reporting to the Director of New Business Development, this role is directly responsible for fueling the sales pipeline by identifying high-value target employers, initiating outbound contact, and securing qualified meetings for our Account Executives.
he Business Development Role plays a critical role in driving profitable sales growth and establishing initial client relationships to promote our comprehensive workforce solutions, including wellness programs, clinical testing, and biometric screenings.

Responsibilities
Outbound Prospecting:
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers (HR, Benefits, Health & Safety leaders) at target employer organizations via cold calling, personalized emails, and social selling (e.g., LinkedIn).

Lead Qualification:
  • Conduct initial discovery to understand the employer's current health and safety programs, pain points, and assess their fit for Quest's WHS offerings.

Meeting Generation:
  • Secure and schedule highly qualified discovery calls and meetings, ensuring a seamless handoff to the Account Executive team.

CRM Management:
  • Track all sales activities, prospect interactions, and pipeline progress within the CRM (e.g., Salesforce) to ensure accurate reporting and data integrity.

Strategic Alignment:
  • Collaborate closely with Account Executives to develop targeted account lists, craft territory strategies, and refine messaging for specific industries.

Continuous Learning:
  • Maintain a deep understanding of Quest Diagnostics' WHS products, industry trends, and the competitive landscape to effectively communicate value to prospects.

Qualifications
Required Work Experience:
  • 1-2 years of experience in a sales, SDR, or BDR role, preferably within B2B healthcare, HR tech, or enterprise solutions.

Preferred Work Experience:
  • 3+ years of experience in a sales, SDR, or BDR role, preferably within B2B healthcare, HR tech, or enterprise solutions.

Knowledge:
  • Understanding of sales cycle, qualifying prospects, and evaluation of business fit. Understanding of the employer-sponsored healthcare ecosystem, including basic knowledge of wellness trends, biometric screenings, and occupational health.

Skills:
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to handle objections, bypass gatekeepers, and build quick rapport with executive stakeholders.

Technical Knowledge:
  • Proficiency using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce), sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, Salesloft), and prospecting tools like LinkedIn Sales Navigator.
  • Highly self-motivated, resilient, coachable, and results-driven with a strong track record of meeting or exceeding activity and meeting-generation quotas.

Work Environment:
  • Remote or Hybrid

Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, or equivalent practical experience. (Required)
