DRILL OPERATOR - AGGREGATE

FOX CITIES | WISCONSIN


RESPONSIBILITIES

Drill Operators are vital team members on our blasting crews who are responsible for the safe and
efficient operation of drilling equipment in our quarries or construction sites. Through training,
operators will learn to layout drilling patterns by interpreting and following written instructions or
diagrams. Responsibilities also include working in a team environment and communicating with
other team members to create detailed drilling patterns. Drill operators are responsible for loading
explosive materials into blasting patterns by hand. This includes assisting with the coordination of
bulk explosive trucks, and handling, storing, or transporting explosive materials in a safe manner.


Safety is a top priority at MCC, Inc. Operators must be able to work safely on all job sites around
moving equipment and traffic, and in various weather conditions. This includes ensuring compliance
with all work-place rules and regulations according to company policy, and all governing agencies.


MCC, Inc. is a versatile company that requires employees to cross-train on other duties or work-tasks
as assigned, including operating other related equipment.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in related field preferred.
  • Class B CDL with hazmat endorsement preferred, or willingness to obtain.
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent, with an understanding of basic math preferred.
  • Independent judgement and reasoning skills (problem solving and troubleshooting skills)
  • Self-Motivated to perform work tasks according to written instruction without supervision.
  • Light mechanical abilities preferred.
  • Ability to assess and report various hazards and work safely to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Must be able to handle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to read and interpret maps or graphs, with the ability to provide and comprehend clearinstructions or directions (general and technical).
