Receives, records and distributes customer order to dispatcher upon customersโ€™ requests for service and operates straight or articulated rubber tired tractor type vehicle equipped with front mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop to lift and transport bulk materials to and from storage or processing areas, to load trucks or railcars by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but other duties may be assigned.

Travel between locations as needed; 30 miles between multiple locations.

Takes and records customer orders.

Weighs trucks and enters tickets on computer.

Proficient in computer and organizational skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Ability to project a professional attitude when dealing with internal and external customers by phone on in person.

Balances to cash receipts and deposits.

Maintains accurate financial records.

Implements company credit and sales policies.

Moves aggregates from one area to another.

Loads OTR trucks to maintain a good cycle time.

Performs pre-shift inspection.

Maintains loader area (roads, stockpile areas and berms)

Operates loader in such a way as to prevent damage (does not spin tires, run in water or run over rocks in roadways).

Completes daily safety check.

Rolls samples for Quality Control Technicians.

Performs routine maintenance on loader such as lubricating, fueling and cleaning.

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to communicate with vendors, service providers and all levels of employees.

Knowledge and understanding of equipment

Knowledge of work areas (yard, pit, stockpiles, etc.)

Knowledge of products and arrangements.

Knowledge of weight limits on OTR trucks.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent; or minimum of one year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Must have computer skills either through experience or classes.

 LANGUAGE  SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations.
