How much do quantum care jobs pay per year?

As of Jun 13, 2026, the average yearly pay for quantum care in the United States is $43,441.00, according to ZipRecruiter salary data. Most workers in this role earn between $43,500.00 and $44,000.00 per year, depending on experience, location, and employer.

What is Quantum Care?

Quantum Care typically refers to organizations or initiatives providing specialized healthcare services, often for elderly or vulnerable populations, with an emphasis on innovative approaches or advanced technology. In some contexts, it is the name of a healthcare provider specializing in residential, nursing, or dementia care. The aim of Quantum Care services is to enhance quality of life, provide person-centered support, and embrace new methods or technologies to improve patient outcomes.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in quantum care, and how can they prepare to address them?

Professionals in quantum care often encounter the challenge of staying current with rapidly evolving technologies and research developments in the field. They must also navigate the complexity of integrating quantum-based solutions into existing care models, which may require interdisciplinary collaboration and continuous learning. To address these challenges, it's helpful to participate in ongoing education, attend industry conferences, and actively engage with cross-functional teams. Building a strong foundation in both quantum science and patient care principles will help ensure success and adaptability in this emerging field.

What is the difference between Quantum Care vs Quantum Technician?

AspectQuantum CareQuantum Technician

Work EnvironmentHealthcare facilities, clinics, hospitalsResearch labs, tech companies, manufacturing
Employer & IndustryHealthcare providers, hospitalsTech firms, research institutions
Common Search/ComparisonQuantum Care vs Quantum Technician

Quantum Care professionals focus on patient-centered healthcare using quantum technologies, often requiring healthcare certifications. Quantum Technicians support quantum systems in research or tech environments, emphasizing technical skills. While both roles involve quantum technology, their work settings and credentials differ significantly.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Quantum Care professional, and why are they important?

To thrive in Quantum Care, you typically need a background in healthcare or caregiving, along with knowledge of specialized care practices relevant to the organization. Familiarity with electronic care management systems and any required certifications, such as First Aid or state-specific caregiving qualifications, is important. Compassion, patience, and strong interpersonal communication help build trust and rapport with clients and their families. These skills ensure high-quality, person-centered care and support for individuals with complex needs.

You will utilize advanced knowledge of engineering as well as computing, hardware, or physics, to perform experimental research in the use of superconducting quantum systems and quantum physics.

What your day-to-day as a Quantum Computing Engineer at Fermilab will look like:

  • Designing moderately complex quantum computing software/hardware interfaces and/or training platforms. Depending on area of assignment, may focus on quantum computing, quantum sensing, materials, and/or quantum physics experiments.
  • Assisting in application of quantum computing technologies to SQMS projects, including but not limited to superconducting cavities.
  • Integrating and testing microwave systems for superconducting quantum computing.
  • Deploying hardware and software controls for qubit characterization and readout, as well as supporting scientific experiments through hands-on work with quantum computing testbeds.
  • Understanding and elaborating system design of hardware architecture.
  • Designing analogue conditioning circuits and digital signal processing systems.
  • Synthetizing and analyzing complex high-frequency RF signals for the implementation of quantum gates and microwave pulses.
  • Automating measurements, controls, data acquisition, and processing on quantum computing testbeds.
  • Participating in design and testing efforts. Monitoring test and facility operations to isolate and define functional problems with equipment. Developing and proposing plans and improvements to rectify problems and meet project goals.
  • Writing scientific papers, technical documents, and engineering notes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Abiding by and being responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.

Essential Competencies and Attributes for Success:
