Job description

Tarkett is seeking an experienced and strategic B-Shift Extrusion Supervisor to join our growing team in our Calhoun Manufacturing Plant. In this key position, he or she will effectively lead associates to ensure satisfaction of customer expectations, safety, and production requirements while executing the Tarkett strategy and embracing Tarkett's vision, mission, and objectives. The Supervisor will proactively lead, support, train, coach, and direct his or her assigned work team to execute operational plans. This role will drive continuous improvement through World Class Manufacturing (WCM) while sustaining effective associate relationships. The Production Supervisor will properly maintain records, reports, and data collection in a timely and complete manner.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Driving daily schedule attainment and effectively allocate resources

  • Defining problems, collecting qualitative and quantitative data to establish facts - taking decisive action

  • Actively monitoring, evaluating, and reporting performance daily on using the Shop Floor Management Tools from WCM

  • Taking full ownership of shift and performance reporting management

  • Evaluating and coordinating training needs and initiatives of team to drive continuous improvement

  • Working closely with Engineering and Maintenance to help improve and document production processes and equipment operation

  • Providing coaching and guidance as required, as well as executing consistent documentation within the corrective action process

  • Improving record procedures to ensure organizational effectiveness and ISO requirements

  • Learning, understanding, and communicating compliance issues related to Company guidelines

  • Participating in projects and process improvements in an effort to drive change and improve results

  • Demonstrating a hands-on leadership approach to identifying, resolving, and communicating resolution of issues across the plant

  • Coaching, developing, and training employees

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION DESIRED:

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • 2 - 5 years of experience in a manufacturing supervisory role

  • Ability to work overtime as needed

  • Computer proficiency, specifically with Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, ADP / SAP is a plus

  • Analyze and interpret product specifications, production schedules, quality documentation, and other process / performance documentation in English

  • Ability to effectively present information, respond to questions, and interact with employees, managers, and peers

  • Experience operating within quality framework such as ISO9001, ISO14000, ISO1800

  • Experience with lean manufacturing and Visual Shop Floor Management experience with handling and prioritizing multiple tasks at the same time

WORK SCHEDULES/HOURS

  • Sunday through Tuesday, 7 AM to 7 PM (A Shift)

  • Sunday through Tuesday, 7 PM to 7 AM (B Shift)

  • Thursday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM (C Shift)

  • Thursday through Saturday, 7 AM to 7 PM (D Shift)

All shifts work every other Wednesda
