Title: Research AssociateDepartment:Assistant ProfessorReports To:Assistant ProfessorPosition Summary:

The Research Associate will conduct NIH-funded research focused on mechanobiology and biomechanics. The position will involve designing and performing research, quantitative data analysis, preparation of manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, presentation of research findings at scientific conferences, and contribution to ongoing research activities. The Research Associate will also assist with mentoring graduate and undergraduate researchers and supporting the successful completion of project objectives.

Essential Functions:
  • Conduct NIH-funded biomedical engineering research involving experimental design, data collection, image analysis, quantitative characterization, and interpretation of biological and mechanical responses.

  • Perform computational modeling, data analysis, and integration of experimental and computational approaches to investigate mechanisms regulating cellular behavior and tissue remodeling.

  • Prepare manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals and present research findings at national and international scientific conferences.

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to graduate and undergraduate students involved in research projects.

  • Contribute to preparation of research reports, presentations, and grant-related materials.

Prerequisite Qualifications:
  • A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Bioengineering, or a closely related field.

  • Strong background in biomechanics, mechanobiology, computational modeling, and quantitative data analysis.

  • Excellent scientific writing, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Ability to independently conduct research, analyze results, and contribute to peer-reviewed publications.

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
