Research Analyst
Contingent upon Contract Award and Funding
Purpose:
  • Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking two detail-oriented and analytical part-time Research Analysts to join our team in Camarillo, CA.
  • The ideal candidates will gather, analyze, and interpret data to support decision-making and operations for the NSWC Port Hueneme Division (NSWC-PHD) Counterfeit Material Prevention Program (CMPP). This role values strong research abilities, critical thinking, communication skills, and the capacity to manage details under pressure in a collaborative environment.
  • These are contingent, part-time positions with an anticipated start date of mid-September 2026. Both positions are contingent upon the availability of direct government funding to support these roles.

Job Description:
  • Assist CMPP management with decision-making, policy formulation, and other managerial functions, including basic data analysis and support for optimizing counterfeit prevention methods and processes.
  • Utilize Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, and/or related tools to organize and maintain CMPP case records, supplier information, and program documentation.
  • Support development and maintenance of models related to supply chain risk, counterfeit materiel prevention, reliability, or program evaluations through data collection and basic analysis.
  • Conduct research and data collection from various sources including supplier databases, deficiency reporting systems, government-industry data exchange resources (e.g., GIDEP), reports, market trends, and internal records to support counterfeit materiel case intake, triage, and authorized-supplier verification.
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify patterns, trends, and actionable insights in support of counterfeit risk assessment and case prioritization.
  • Prepare clear reports, summaries, presentations, and visualizations to communicate CMPP findings to stakeholders and command leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (including leadership, government stakeholders, vendors, and campus/professional networks) to support CMPP project goals and strategies.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records of research data, methodologies, case documentation, and project timelines in support of auditable program execution.
  • Manage logistics, timelines, and risk considerations for events or project deliverables involving multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent; current enrollment in or completion of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, IT, Business, or a related field strongly preferred (e.g., B.A. Mechanical Engineering) and at least 1 year of experience in roles demonstrating analytical thinking, organization, customer service, or team coordination.
  • Must be comfortable assisting with decision support, detail tracking, and cross-team coordination.
  • Must be strong and proficient with Microsoft Office, Generative AI tools for Workflow Optimization, and basic data organization tools.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Academic or extracurricular experience resulting in practical strategies for business growth, economic analysis, technology transition support, or local/community impact, preferred.
  • Leadership in event planning, risk management, or large scale team environments, preferred.
  • Exposure to financial accounting, data trends, or process optimization through coursework or activities, preferred.
  • Familiarity with supply chain integrity, counterfeit prevention, quality assurance, or DoD/Navy policy (e.g., DoDI 4140.67) is a plus.

Security Requirements:
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance (with potential upgrade to Top Secret).
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with a valid Driver's License.

Travel Requirements:
  • Up to 20% travel (international and domestic) depending on program needs.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate credentials (e.g., REAL ID) for domestic flights or secure facilities.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (no later than position start date) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
  • Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Ability to move up and down ladders and sleep onboard Navy vessels in berthing compartments and/or staterooms.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information and repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
