The Operations Research Supply Chain Analyst will support Department of Defense supply chain, logistics, and sustainment initiatives by conducting data analysis, modeling, simulation, and operational research to drive informed decision-making. The analyst will perform data ETL, develop demand forecasts, assess inventory requirements, and identify top degraders through what-if simulation experiments.
This role requires strong analytical and quantitative skills, the ability to work collaboratively with senior and mid-level developers and subject matter experts, and the capacity to present findings clearly to senior DoD leaders and stakeholders.
Position is Remote with occasional travel to client site (~5%).
- Help to identify, understand, and curate necessary data to support supply chain and logistics initiatives.
- Perform data analysis and what-if simulation experiments to identify demand forecasts, inventory level requirements, top degraders, and other key supply chain metrics.
- Develop supply chain assessments, studies, and analytical reports to inform DoD decision-making.
- Present analysis and findings to government, industry, and internal stakeholders.
- Work with a team of senior and mid-level developers and subject matter experts to answer project requirements and needs.
- Coordinate with government, industry, and internal stakeholders to gather information, validate findings, and support recommended courses of action.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as math, physics, operations research, engineering, data analytics, or another relevant technical domain.
- 3+ years of experience in supply chain and inventory management, industrial base analysis, technology assessments, logistics, acquisition support, intelligence analysis, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience using analytic tools such as Python, SQL, and Tableau to perform data exploration and analysis.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and research skills.
- Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear findings, risk statements, and actionable recommendations.
- Superior oral and written communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-level briefings and reports.
- High energy, enthusiasm, tact, and ability to effectively interact with senior executives from government and industry.
- Ability to create and foster a cooperative work environment.
- Self-directed and detail-oriented, with the ability to complete assigned tasks, adapt to changing work efforts, and manage shifting priorities.
- Availability for occasional travel (5%).
- S. citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing in C++.
- Frontend application development using tools such as React and JavaScript.
- Experience using Modeling and Simulation tools to run what-if scenarios and develop Courses of Action based on simulation output.
- Experience with Predictive Maintenance for DoW clients.
