Job Summary:
JBS International, Inc. is a company focused on managing federal programs, and they are seeking a Data Operations Specialist to provide administrative support for grant management. The role involves maintaining data systems, ensuring data quality, and supporting various data collection processes.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and track data to support grant administration. Data may include, but are not limited to: grant application processing and award, enrollment reporting, deployment of monitoring events and training and technical assistance, information collection during monitoring reviews, datasets, dashboards, and reports.
• Integrate multiple data sources to support grant administration processes.
• Review existing data systems to check for data quality and ensure that records are maintained to support quality assurance.
• Follow processes under the guidance of senior staff to review and identify inaccurate data or improperly maintained records.
• Automate repetitive tasks, maintain reusable data, and work effectively using SQL.
• Clean, prepare, and validate quantitative and qualitative data to be analyzed by Data Analysts and Data Engineer staff.
• Support and monitor data collection including programming surveys using Qualtrics and Alchemer. Data collection activity may involve organizing and maintaining data from quantitative and qualitative sources while ensuring quality and accuracy.
• Monitor tasks and deliverables as set by senior staff to support contract compliance.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Library Science or related field from an accredited university or college
• 3 years of experience comprising 2 years of focused data management experience with additional experience including a combination of college labs, internships
• Proficient in Excel or Smartsheet
• Foundational knowledge of SQL
• Experience leveraging GitHub, managing documentation on Confluence or SharePoint
• Strong problem solving, analysis, communication, and teamwork skills
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to write clearly and concisely with attention to detail and target audience focus
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
• English fluency (oral and written)
• Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI), Smartsheet
• Project Management (Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Monday.com)
• Foundational Programming in SQL
• Ability to pass background investigations as required for access to federal facilities and systems
• Ability to sit for extended periods and operate a computer keyboard and mouse
• Must be able to see and read computer screens and printed materials
• Capable of using hands and fingers to operate equipment and perform tasks requiring precision
• Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with team members and stakeholders
• Frequently required to stand, walk, reach, and bend to access office equipment and attend meetings
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds for short distances
• Must be able to perceive and interact with the environment using hearing and speaking skills
• Primarily works in a typical office environment, with exposure to computer screens and moderate noise levels
