SUMMARY The quality Manager's primary directive involves coordinating activities both internally and externally as related to the meeting of customer's expectations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Formulates and maintains quality assurance objectives to corporate policies and goals.
  2. Coordinates TS16949 quality system documentation, maintenance and follow-up for the facility.
  3. Investigates and addresses customer complaints regarding quality through CAR's
  4. Reviews test and inspection reports; directs corrective action to be taken in cases of non-conforming material
  5. Ensures that complete records on quality issues are maintained with specifications and manuals are up to date.
  6. Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems.
  7. Analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine present standards and establish proposed quality and reliability of finished product
  8. Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  9. This position is required to work daily and weekend overtime and to travel.
  10.  Other duties as required.
  11. Understand BIC Key performance indicators and develop and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed BIC 75
  12. Drive lean principles to reduce waste and implement 5S and Kaizens in department
  13. Manage Quality Department including Quality Engineer and Quality Supervisor
  14. Ensure good communication across shifts, departments
  15. Participate in problem solving, VSM, Kaizen projects
  16. Implement SOT's, standard work
  17. Audit for standard work, quality, understanding HSE
  18. Train, disqualify, qualify and audit performance on teammates

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.  Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.  Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

It is recommended that this position attain the Certified Quality Manager  (ASQ) and/or the Certified Quality Auditor status.
