Position Summary

Liberty Pattern Company (LPC) is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead and continuously improve our Quality Management System (QMS). This individual will be responsible for maintaining our ISO 9001 certification, driving a culture of quality throughout the organization, and leading LPC's future transition to AS9100 certification.

This is a hands-on leadership role that combines quality system management, process improvement, auditing, customer quality support, training, and operational excellence. The Quality Manager will work closely with leadership, engineering, production, additive manufacturing, CNC machining, and customer-facing teams to ensure our systems consistently deliver high-quality products and exceptional customer satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has proven experience managing an ISO 9001-certified quality system and possesses working knowledge of AS9100 requirements within aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing environments.

Key ResponsibilitiesQuality Management System Leadership
  • Serve as the management representative and primary owner of LPC's Quality Management System.

  • Maintain and continuously improve LPC's ISO 9001 certification.

  • Lead development, implementation, and future certification efforts for AS9100.

  • Maintain the Quality Manual, procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.

  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and quality requirements.

  • Drive continual improvement initiatives throughout the organization.

Auditing & Compliance

  • Plan and execute internal audit programs.

  • Coordinate and manage external audits, certification audits, customer audits, and supplier audits.

  • Monitor compliance to documented procedures and quality standards.

  • Lead Management Review meetings and report QMS performance metrics to company leadership.

Corrective & Preventive Action

  • Lead root cause investigations utilizing proven problem-solving methodologies.

  • Manage corrective and preventive action programs.

  • Verify effectiveness of corrective actions and document results.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 Clause 10.2 requirements for nonconformance management.

Quality Assurance & Process Control

  • Improve process consistency, traceability, and documentation across manufacturing operations.

  • Analyze quality data and KPI trends to drive measurable improvements.

Establish and maintain controls for:

  • Product release

  • Inspection and testing

  • Traceability

  • Nonconforming product control

  • Record retention

  • Document control

  • Calibration systems

Customer Quality Support

  • Support customer quality questionnaires and audits.

  • Serve as primary quality contact for customers.

  • Coordinate responses to customer quality concerns.

  • Assist in supplier qualification and quality evaluations.

Training & Culture

  • Develop quality training programs.

  • Ensure personnel competency requirements are defined and maintained.

  • Promote a quality-first culture throughout the organization.

  • Provide coaching and mentoring on quality tools and best practices.

Preferred Experience

Required

  • 5+ years of Quality Management experience in manufacturing.

  • Direct experience administering an ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

  • Experience leading external certification audits.

  • Experience conducting internal audits.

  • Strong understanding of root cause analysis, corrective actions, process improvement, document control, risk-based thinking, and quality metrics.

Strongly Preferred

  • AS9100 implementation, audit, or certification experience.

  • Aerospace, defense, foundry, machining, tooling, additive manufacturing, or precision manufacturing experience.

  • AS9100 Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification.

  • Experience with customer and supplier quality systems.

  • Experience building a QMS from ISO 9001 toward AS9100 certification.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.

  • Equivalent manufacturing quality experience will be considered.
