Job description

Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our 3PL warehouse. This role is critical in ensuring that the warehouse runs efficiently and meets the needs of our clients. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in warehouse management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to implement processes that improve productivity and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, coach and motivate warehouse associates to achieve operational goals aligned with company goals and objectives. Ensure team members understand job requirements and uphold high performance standards. Partner with HRBP’s to lead and resolve all performance management concerns.
  • Culture Development: Drives the team’s high-performance workplace culture by setting high expectations aligned with our organization’s core values. Proactively provides positive and constructive feedback through adult-to-adult conversations, fostering a culture of mutual trust and respect.
  • Safety & Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and best practices to ensure a safe working environment. Conduct regular safety observations and ensure all warehouse operations comply with regulatory and company standards.
  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee daily warehouse activities, including receiving, picking, packing, and shipping, to ensure productivity and efficiency are optimized. Monitor inventory levels, assist with cycle counts, and ensure accuracy in product storage and order fulfillment. Implement strategies to prevent inventory discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and implement improvements to drive efficiency, reduce errors, and maintain high levels of service.
  • Performance Monitoring: Track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as order accuracy, shipping times, and productivity, and take action to resolve any discrepancies or areas for improvement.
  • Work Scheduling: Create and manage employee schedules to ensure adequate coverage, balancing the workload during peak and off-peak periods.
  • Quality Control: Ensure all outbound orders meet quality standards, including verifying correct products, quantities, and packaging. Resolve any quality issues and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Technology & Systems: Ensure the proper use of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other technologies to track orders, inventory, and shipments. Troubleshoot system issues as they arise.
  • Problem-Solving: Collaboratively address operational challenges and provide solutions to improve efficiency, minimize delays, and resolve customer issues promptly.
  • Reporting & Documentation: Prepare and submit daily/weekly operational reports to management, including inventory levels, order fulfillment performance, and employee productivity.

Required Qualification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in warehouse or 3PL management, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required. 
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and order fulfillment processes.
  • Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), barcode scanners, and related warehouse technology.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and a detail-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven record of fostering high performance teams. 

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time. 
  • Must be able to access and navigate the production facility.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily works in a production or operational environment, which may involve exposure to noise, dust, or other conditions typical of the industry.
  • Occasional high-pressure situations during peak periods or when resolving operational issues.

Travel Requirements:

  • Minimal travel required, though may involve occasional visits to other facilities, client sites, or training 10% of the time.

Equipment Used:

  • Standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, and printers.
  • Industry-specific equipment or machinery related to the operational function of the department.
  • Operational management software or tools for tracking performance and productivity.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Direct supervision of employees within the department, including team leaders, specialists, and support staff.
  • Responsible for hiring, training, performance evaluations, and handling any disciplinary actions within the team.
  • Lead regular team meetings and ensure all employees understand their roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations.
