Quality Inspector: $28/hr - 1st Shift

We are seeking a meticulous Quality Inspector with expertise in welding and press brake operations to join our job shop team. This is a challenging and rewarding position where you will play a crucial role in ensuring product quality and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay Rate: The expected hourly wage is $28/hr. Pay will be offered based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, and certifications.

Responsibilities Include:
    • Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of welded components and press brake-formed parts to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
    • Document inspection results, deviations, and non-conformances accurately and in a timely manner using inspection reports and quality control records.
    • Maintain comprehensive records of inspections and provide feedback to the production team for continuous improvement.
    • Monitor and evaluate welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and spot welding, for compliance with established procedures and standards.
    • Monitor press brake operations to ensure proper setup and adherence to bending angles and tolerances.
    • Identify and address any issues related to equipment performance or process deviations.
    • Verify the quality of raw materials and welding consumables, ensuring they meet required specifications and standards.
    • Assess the suitability of materials for the intended applications, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel.
    • Investigate and analyze the root causes of non-conformities and defects, working closely with the production team to implement corrective and preventive actions.
    • Provide guidance and training to production personnel on quality standards, best practices, and quality control procedures.
    • Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives and collaborate with engineering/production to implement quality enhancements and optimize processes.
    • Ensure that all quality inspections are performed safely and in compliance with company safety protocols.
Skills and Qualifications ️
  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Inspector in a job shop environment with welding and press brake operations. Must have Job Shop experience.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, including MIG, TIG, and spot welding, as well as press brake forming.
  • Proficiency in reading engineering drawings and blueprints is a must.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of quality control tools and techniques. Experience using calipers and micrometers is a plus.
