What You'll Do
  • Plan, set up, perform, and coordinate the quality activities for the assigned employee groups
  • Direct assigned group in the quality setup and operation of equipment with regard to quality specifications, quantity, proper sequence and production standards.
  • Determine best set-ups for optimum use of equipment and manpower while minimizing waste and production delays.
  • Work from production schedules, stock needed reports, fab shop needs/request and/or verbal instructions.
  • Work with computer programs such as, but not limited to, Fab G, Epoxy Production System, Load Sheets, Daily Hours, E-mail and other excel & word documents.
  • Perform all quality related functions for the location such as Tests, Inspections (Internal & External), Reports, Set-ups, Filing, etc.
  • Compare test results to material specifications.
  • Coordinates with operational departments to support process quality.
  • Maintains traceability of all test materials.
  • Monitors the production process and collects hot-rolled steel samples as needed.
  • Performs calibration verification on test equipment.
  • Performs physical and dimensional tests on steel samples.
  • Uses both computer-controlled and manual tools and equipment.

What You'll Need
  • Good Organizational and Leadership skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule
  • Operate a computer proficiently (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Maintains lab equipment and a clean, organized workspace.
  • Comprehends and applies standards, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Strong ability to recall specifics, methods, and processes.
  • Proficiency with software such as Microsoft Office, email platforms, and digital recordkeeping systems.
  • Follow supervisory or managerial instructions in a timely and safe manner.
  • Ability to use measuring devices including tape measures, micrometers, and inside/outside calipers.
  • Able to stand for up to 12 hours and perform frequent physical activities such as walking, climbing stairs, and reaching to work with equipment throughout the shift.
