Job Summary of the R&O Quality Inspector

The R&O Quality Inspector is responsible for the Quality Control of the repairs within the 145-repair station. Must adhere to the Repair Station Quality Control Manual (RSQCM), Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM), and all 14 CFR Aviation Regulations.


Duties/Responsibilities of the R&O Quality Inspector

  • Train, direct, and assist all inspection personnel performing work under the repair station certificate as directed by the Accountable Manager.
  • Ensure the proficiency of every inspector by completing the Inspector Proficiency Checklist Form RSF-211-01.
  • Ensure all incoming, hidden damage, preliminary, in-process, and final inspections are performed following the procedures outlined in the manual.
  • Respond to any request for inspection of this repair station certificate.
  • Determine the final disposition of articles failing to meet the incoming inspection review as directed by the Accountable Manager.
  • Ensure appropriate calibrations and checks are made on the tools and equipment used by the repair station as described in the manual.
  • Red-tag or placard any malfunctioning or non-functioning equipment.
  • Assist Field & Tech Services with aviation technical questions.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Required skills/abilities of the R&O Quality Inspector

  • Read and understand drawings, manuals (CMMs), work instructions, and schematics.
  • Use industry-standard electronics bench test equipment, i.e., Spectrum Analyzer, O-scope, multi-meter, and power supplies.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Proficient with a PC and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Computer and website navigation skills are required.
  • Strong Customer service and communication skills
  • Phone skills are required, as well as organizational skills

Knowledge, Education, and Experience of the R&O Quality Inspector


  • 3+ years of experience working with a QMS
  • 3+ years of experience in electronics installation and repair
  • Experience dealing with Aviation OEMs is a plus
