Quality Specialist

Location: Houma, LA

Position Overview: The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring quality assurance and control functions within a heavy manufacturing, construction or shipyard environment. The ideal candidate must have work experience in QA/QC functions and be capable of reading and interpreting codes, specifications, advanced blueprints, and inspection and test procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform QA/QC functions to ensure compliance with industry standards and company requirements.
  • Read and interpret codes, specifications, and advanced blueprints.
  • Conduct inspections and tests according to established procedures.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
  • Communicate procedures and processes effectively to team members.
  • Utilize standard software (MS Outlook, Word, and Excel) for documentation and reporting.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of craft experience (welding, electrical, fitting, painting, etc.) in heavy manufacturing, construction or shipyard environments and prior quality testing/inspecting experience

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong understanding of quality assurance and control principles.
  • Attention to detail and precision in inspection and testing tasks.
