Job Summary:ย We are seeking a meticulous and experienced Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality of sheet metal fabricated parts through comprehensive inspections and adherence to industry standards. This role involves first and last piece part inspection, preparation of first article reports, and familiarity with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform first and last piece part inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare and maintain first article inspection reports.
  • Conduct in-process inspections and final inspections of sheet metal fabricated parts.
  • Utilize standard measuring tools such as digital calipers, micrometers, height gages, ring and plug gages to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Document inspection results and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of PPAP documentation (experience with PPAP is a plus).
  • Ensure all inspection equipment is properly calibrated and maintained.
  • Adhere to safety and quality policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a manufacturing environment, preferably with sheet metal fabricated parts.
  • Proficiency in using standard measuring tools such as digital calipers, micrometers, height gages, ring and plug gages.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with first article inspection reports and PPAP documentation.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and reporting purposes.
