Schedule: M – T, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM


Aluminum Welder I

This position is located on-site at our Bayou La Batre, AL shipyard


Our Welders are an integral piece of our work on a daily basis.  Some of your daily functions will include:

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and ship drawings.
  • Fit, tack, and weld assemblies for hulls, decks, superstructures, and outfitting.
  • Weld aluminum proficiently.
  • Perform rework and repairs as required by QA/QC or inspection results.
  • Weld in any position (uphill, horizontal, vertical, or flat).
  • Operate power equipment safely and comply with all safety standards.

Qualifications / Skills / Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an Aluminum Welder.
  • Possess a High School Diploma or a GED.
  • fundamental knowledge in marine or manufacturing industry.
  • Proficiency in MIG and/or TIG aluminum welding.
  • Knowledge of aluminum alloys commonly used in shipbuilding (e.g., 5083, 5086, 6061).
  • Ability to produce quality work with minimum to no rework.
  • Excellent math skills with the ability to read a tape measure accurately.
  • Understanding of welding distortion control and heat input management.
