QUALITY INSPECTOR
Description
Position Summary :
Ensures quality through testing and inspection at various stages of production process. Set-up and conduct a variety of standard electrical and mechanical tests on components, sub-assemblies, and final products using standard test equipment, instruments, and fixtures. Perform Incoming Inspection mechanical and electrical set-ups and inspection on selected components. This position floats between the Incoming Inspection and Final Test Inspection roles as needed.
Essential Functions / Responsibilities :
  • Ability to read and understand the engineering drawings, work instructions, and specifications.
  • Ability to apply a variety of calibrated mechanical and electrical measuring tools, including micrometer, caliper, dial indicator, comparator, plug and thread gauge, hardness tester, multi meter, or electrical power supply.
  • Ability to measure product per engineering drawing and specification, record findings including non-conformance reporting. Apply product history cards and inspection logs.
  • Process the parts through ERP system as directed.
  • Maintain inspection records and files.
  • Inspect and test products received from suppliers, and internal subassembly/assembly production up through packaging/shipping areas.
  • Perform first piece inspection on items received from subassembly and assembly.
  • Perform Final Test duties and Incoming Inspection duties to support those areas as necessary to assist in the management of excessive workloads.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Assist with process continuous improvement teams.

Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills & Experiences :
  • High School diploma or training and experience in the use of mechanical/electrical inspection and measuring tool devices.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of relevant experience.
  • Soldering experience a plus
  • Understanding of Engineering drawings and Quality Control standards.
  • Knowledge of computer programs (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Awareness of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

Training and Requirements :
General Safety; Quality System Awareness
Physical Requirements :
Required to sit, stand, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment :
  • Combination of manufacturing and office environment.
  • Regular exposure to noise, dust, heat, cold and odors.

Work Hours:
6:30 AM - 3:45 PM; Monday - Thursday. 6:30 AM - 11:30 AM; Friday.
Pay Range:
$19.00 - $27.00 hourly
