Summary:
Responsible to assist with the overall implementation of the quality control procedures and ensuring customer satisfaction and compliance with agency policies and applicable regulatory regulations.
Essential Functions:
  • Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.
  • Approves First Piece inspections by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting if it does not conform to customer specifications
  • Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to Production Supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Conducts Daily Food Safety Checks and document results
  • Responsible for verifying GMP requirements are met
  • Aid in the proper upkeep and maintenance of testing equipment
  • Assist in analyzing all product failures and make recommendations for corrective action
  • Perform sorting operations on defective lots
  • Be familiar with Agency's philosophies, objectives and techniques regarding Quality Control
  • Document all inspection results by completing forms and logs
  • Verify all documentation has been completed accurately
  • Learn all responsibilities of the supervisor and assist with the examination of all quality control functions and update as needed
  • Be available for planning and discussion to ensure product specifications are suitable
  • When necessary, work with customers to set quality inspection requirements
  • Participate in all required Agency trainings and meetings
  • Monitor area for safety hazards and promote safety in the work environment
  • To meet or exceed the expectations of our customers through effective application of an ISO Quality System
  • Participates in corporate compliance and quality assurance activities as required
  • Support the mission of Arc GLOW by ensuring operational excellence and compliance that enables our team to provide high-quality, individualized supports.
  • Other related duties as assigned

Non-Essential Functions:
  • Participation in outside training

Reporting Responsibilities:
  • Reports to: ISO Quality Manager/SQF Practitioner

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Skills in performing inspection and sorting operations
  • Experience using testing equipment (scales, rulers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Effectively communicate quality requirements to staff, customers and people receiving services
  • Maintain composure under pressure
  • Ability to read blueprints and QC specifications
  • Strong mathematical skills

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Ability to sit, stand and stoop.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
  • Will be required to use various department equipment, including, but not limited to pallet jack, hand truck, customer supplied tooling and equipment etc., in addition to standard office equipment.

Working Conditions:
  • Typical packaging and assembly facility and typical office environment. May be required to work in cold or dirty conditions on occasion.
  • May require travel to other manufacturing facilities.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience with quality assurance and quality control with mechanical components, packaging and assembly
  • Knowledge of ISO Quality System
  • Valid NYS driver's license with a safe driving record per agency policy.
