Position Summary
Magellan Aerospace, Haverhill is a world-class manufacturer of precision machined aerospace components. We have an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer. The successful incumbent will create, implement, maintain and monitor quality plans related to manufacturing processes for rotating and structural aerospace components. Monitor and analyze manufacturing process capabilities and provide root cause analysis, corrective action and overall guidance to maintain/improve metrics.
The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $109,000
Essential Responsibilities
  • Develop/implement/improve manufacturing process quality plans
  • Create process documentation (CA&V, ICP, PFMEA)
  • Review/disposition of non-conformance and facilitate root cause review/assignment
  • Monitor Process quality metrics and initiate improvement plans
  • Implement corrective actions and monitor sustainment
  • Monitor process capabilities and raise issues for awareness
  • Interface with suppliers to develop/troubleshoot specials processes issues
  • Review drawings/specification changes
  • Interface directly with customers to alleviate quality issues
  • Monitor/develop plans to alleviate MRB/Slow moving WIP
  • Present process metrics utilizing Microsoft PowerPoint
  • Develop/Maintain expert knowledge of customer specifications and requirements
  • Develop and train customer/part specific procedures for quality, technical and operational staff
  • Submit/introduce FPA/DAR plans/changes
  • Provide technical leadership to team members
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor, Manager or Director

  • 3-5 years quality engineering experience preferably in aerospace machining
  • Good understanding of GD&T. Strong understanding of inspection methods preferably on high precision aerospace components.
