Job Title: Quality Engineer

Department: Quality

FLSA Status: Exempt


Position Summary

Quality Engineer supports quality assurance and quality management activities by maintaining certifications, managing audits, addressing customer quality concerns, leading corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement efforts. This role serves as a key liaison between customers, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support quality certifications including ISO/IEC 17025, IATF 16949, and AS9100.

• Manage quality documentation, procedures, standards, and document control activities.

• Coordinate internal, customer, and supplier audits.

• Serve as the primary quality contact for assigned customers.

• Investigate customer concerns, returns, and credit requests.

• Lead Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities and corrective action implementation.

• Create and distribute Quality Alerts.

• Maintain inspection standards, testing specifications, and customer-specific requirements.

• Monitor quality metrics, customer scorecards, returns, and quality performance data.

• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities.

• Assist with FMEAs, Control Plans, MSA studies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality teams to improve processes and product quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field.

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing, quality engineering, or a related industrial environment.

• Experience with Quality Management Systems including ISO/IEC 17025, IATF 16949, and AS9100.

• Proficiency with Minitab or similar statistical analysis software.

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.

• Strong auditing, supplier quality, and corrective action experience.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and handle materials throughout the workday.

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate to high noise levels.
