Job description

We are looking for a motivated professional to drive quality initiatives and lead our SQF (Safe Quality Food) Certification programs. This position serves as the primary SQF practitioner who is required to oversee the development, implementation, review, and maintenance of the SQF System, including the Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety plans.
What you will do
  • Foster a safe work environment and lead by example, adhering to and enforcing all safety and regulatory procedures. Promptly acting on unsafe situations.
  • Immediately report potential food safety or product quality issues to the management staff or shift supervisor.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest SQF edition to ensure our programs, policies, and procedures are compliant to maintaining our SQF certification.
  • Engage with employees by administering training courses, conducting audits and providing coachings and informal educations on the importance of our programs to our customers and the end users of our packaging.
  • Consult and align with the Quality Manager to determine work status, priorities and solutions to potential problems.
  • Conduct internal process audits to verify and validate adherence to all SOPs and work instructions to ensure compliance to set work standards.
  • Work with Quality Manager on creating procedures, work instructions, required for SQF level 3 certification and the Quality Management System.
  • Utilize the Design, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) approach on improvement and problem-solving projects.
  • Participate in customer quality and lead food safety audits conducted in-house and participate in supplier audits as needed.
  • Lead the QFS and other Food Safety Management teams.
  • Maintains environmental testing program related to Food Safety.
  • Assure environmental swabbing and other related testing (water and compressed air) is conducted as required and maintain accurate records.

Education / Professional Background
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree in business management, quality, or other related field preferred
  • Preferred one year of experience in quality control, or lab work in a manufacturing environment.
  • Possess a basic understanding of scientific methods, quality control concepts, lab procedures, and chemistry or science.
  • SQF, SQF Quality Systems Course, HACCP - Required certifications that can be earned after hire
